I say no, it has enough characters as it is.

I say give Claire her OWN game, not one where Chris just comes and steals her limelight (CV) which happens a lot (Degeneration).  She should have a FULL game with no interruptions from others

a number of characters in the RE universe need closure. Billy, Barry, Becca, Claire, Ada it can't be Chris, Jill and Leon all the time, hell we could even have closure for Bruce lol

Personally, they should try to add Elza Walker but other than that, no new characters

yea id like elza walker shed be alright mainly because the fans will recognise her. and yea would be nice for a new jill game. this is what i think too we have so many characters that they can use such as barry, rebecca, billy, bruce, hell they could even use some of the outbreak characters if they really want too so there isnt much need for new characters, also id like a sheva game some time in the future, not in re6 but maybe like re8 or what ever because i liked her 2bh

I want new characters, i think its needed to actually progress on and properly reboot. I'm not saying lets not have any of the others back, I just feel they should be in more supportive or cameo roles. I don't think they all need to come back for closure really, especially not in a player role or anything.

It doesn't seem right that the same individuals would keep on running into the same problems, or similar events. It wouldn't seem realistic to me, I liked that when Resi 2 came along, you had a sense of the same two characters from the previous games without being those two people, (one being a sibling and the other being a STARS member). Ok more recently they have returned to characters to play them out again, but for this to be the case for all characters wouldn't be right.

However much people want Barry to come back, I think honestly he would try and stay away from danger and focus on his family after them being used as leeway by Wesker, he would want to make sure they were safe. I would like to see him return as for example the BSAA gun expert, looking after and upgrading weapons for the player character and team.

Personally I hate it when Capcom introduces yet another new main character (like Ashley or Sheva). Why not continue with the main characters we got already? Like some people already stated before, I would like some closure on (or at least wanna hear something about) the existing characters. We don't know what Rebecca is up to after RE1, which is 10 years ago on the RE timeline. We don't know where Barry is and what he's doing. We don't even know if Nicholai survived Raccoon City (which I think he did). We haven't seen HUNK interact with any other characters etc.

I don't mind if Capcom introduces new minor characters (like Luis, Irving, Excella etc). It would be too much coincidence if all the existing characters would be on the same place at the same time every game. So I don't mind the addition of new minor characters and a few new majorish characters. But they waste every chance they have to use the characters they already established. Why not use Sherry instead of Ashley in RE4? Or use Jill or Rebecca instead of Sheva?

lol yea maybe she could be a cousen haha, but i wouldnt mind elza. i think that what adrian says about how unrealistic it is that the same characters keep on getting caught up in biohazards though, but then again if they bring back old characters but they are on a mission to find and prevent biohazards then it makes more sense

Wow its nearly the exact opposite from my opinion, lol

I can see where everyone is coming from about bringing back old character because people want closure on them, that really does make sense, but i still can't see them all coming back to be player characters. A way i see it going would be for Capcom to bring all the major characters back in a giant team probably BSAA and have a large online element, but storywise it would become like the last X-Men film where everyone only gets a tiny unsatisfying part of the overall game. This in turn leads to the whole Resi 5 aspect of the hardcore fans feeling cheated.

I think maybe another reason why people want old characters back is because the newer characters introduced in the later games (4 and 5) have not been the strongest and ultimately come across quite weak.

Ashley Graham - I could not care about her at all, she ended up annoying the hell out of me and I hated having to play those babysitter sections (thank god she would hide occasionally, I really wish i could have left her in one of those bins) Overall there was no memorable banter other than the cringeworthy finale.

Jack Krauser - Love him or hate him, ultimately he comes across as quite stereotypical in places and something just didn't gel with him in my eyes, i can't put my finger on it though.

Irving - Maybe its just me, but he just got on my nerves, i know a lot of people like him but....aaahhh just thinking about his voice, grrrr.

Excella - Was a fair enough character i suppose but the whole relationship with Wesker seemed really out of place wrong.

Sheva - Just highly unoriginal backstory, with elements feeling stolen from many other characters and ultimately coming together in a uh, whatever, its sad....yes we'll make them pay kind of way. (It would of been a lot more interesting if they had tied her story to the events that Billy went through, there could have been a nice connection between the events of Kijuuju and him i felt)

The BSAA Members - We just didn't get enough information about them for them to standout as individuals in a team, not like the STARS members who although didn't appear that much and some who you didn't even see initially alive, still felt like fully fledged characters with help from things like bios in the game manual, etc.

Steve - Whiney, voice grates, too much overcompensating, his backstory was ok,he himself came over annoyingly (strangely much less so in the Resident Evil CV 4 part comic, probably cause i dont have to here his voice)

Other than Steve, everyone from Code Veronica and the games before were a lot more memorable and less annoying, hence why people still remember such characters as chief Brian Irons, Marvin, The Ashfords, STARS Bravo team, The Birkins, Ada, John, HUNK, as well as all the main player characters and main antagonists. Hell even the merchant (the only new memorable character and exception and for all inttesne purposes wasn't even there as only really being a gameplay mechanic) managed to be a better character without us knowing anything about him as a person or his backstory.
