My favorite and likely always will be is Elfen Lied.

If you can get past the extreme amount of nudity and gore, which is all good and a plus for me, the story is great. At the same time, it's awfully depressing, yet touching.

I watched all of the episodes in one sitting. The first is probably one of the worst in terms of the gore and nudity since it throws you into the situation without much explanation, but it gets your attention well enough and explains it later.

I would highly suggest it if you have not heard of or seen it.

Other than that I'm a fan of Outlaw Star and Ghost in the Shell. Not too much else.

Yeah, i'm a big fan, I love it from an artistic point of view, I especially like the layering techniques as well as the stories. In the East animation is treated more as another medium, another artform, wheras in the west we tend to think that cartoons are just for kids.

I know you can say things like South Park and Family Guy and the like are aimed at adults, which they are, but thats kind of the point, they are AIMED AT ADULTS. In the East it would just be aimed at and accepted by everyone.

I like loads of things from widespread appeal to weird little indie animes.

Devilman - absolutely great, blew me away when I was a young lad.

Dragonball, Z, GT - All great in a way of progression with over 500 episodes of epic-ness.

Naruto - Come on we all like ninja

Fist Of The North Star - great brutality, especially when younger and used to the turtles or something, lol

Death Note - Just been getting in to it after meaning to for ages, brilliantly different than the norm.

These are just a few series to name a few, good old Manga films like Patlabor, Akira, Ghost In The Shell, Spirited Away are all pretty enjoyable too.


Oh and I prefer to watch with Japanese subtitles (even if they can be variable), the voices sound better and stuff isn't cut and dumbed down for a younger audience.

i LOVE outlaw star lol it was what got me into anime. well that and dragon ball z. n wow lol this Elfen Lied thing sounds pretty good i might have to check it out. atm im watchin Bleach which is pretty good. wolfs rain, and ah y goddess lol. ah my goddess is quite girly but it makes me laugh and has enough swearing n sexual references to make it seem more like a guys one haha.
the reason i love it is because of the meanings that a lot of anime shows have about family love and the like. i also love how they can make a cartoon so real. if you look at their eyes you can really feel like you are looking into eyes with an actual soul behind them which for me personifies all of the emotions in each show and pulls you right in to each story. also lets not forget all of the nudity n violence and bad language haha. although im not in to cartoon porn just to clear that up lol

Guys if you really think about it, everyone watches anime. Family guy, south park, futurama is anime.

I watched anime once in a blue moon. Elfen Lied hands down was amazing! Yea pass the nudity and gore but the story line was amazing.

Some animes i watched were Divergence Eve, Misaki chronicles, FullMetal Alchemist, Gunslinger girl, Resident Evil: Degeneration.

I used to watch anime a lot, dragonballz, one piece, ninja scroll, streetfighter 2 animated film and series, akira, ghost in the shell, flame of recca, fist of the northstar, appleseed, guyver.

I grew up watching Anime. There's still a good bit of it I love.

I used to like anime alot, but its kind of ebbed away for me. But I really like Paranoia Agent and Tokyo Godfathers.

ive been watching this anime called Elfen lied and **** me its violent. its confusing too i mean one minute shes this cute and innocent person that only says mew and then shes some evil person thats killing everyone lol. is pretty good though and has a lot of funny scenes. im only on episode 4 though so maybe she isnt evil. im not sure but its a sham that theres only 13 episodes

Ruroni kenshins pretty good he starts as a bad guy and struggles to become a good person in ancient feudal japan.
